Presented by Dr. Richard Gevirtz and Dr. Paul Lehrer
This workshop will cover the background, rationale, physiology, technique, and application of heart rate variability biofeedback, offered by two senior specialists on the topic, both with a history of over 30 years of research on the topic.
The workshop will include a demonstration of HRV biofeedback, a description of the anatomy and physiology of the heart, the nature of cardiac signals, methods of handling artifacts and arrhythmias, structure of the autonomic nervous system, psychophysiology of the respiratory system, measurement of HRV, the dynamics and contribution of resonance, effects on the brain, and description and evaluation of the various applications of HRV biofeedback to various disorders and to human performance. We also will demonstrate how to obtain an individual’s resonance frequency among one or more workshop participants.
